dairy farming

beef sucklers & beef rearing

The pastures of the Broadland area, the marshes and the environmentally sensitive grasslands of East Anglia are home to some of the finest beef cattle in the UK. We take pride in our involvement in producing prime quality animals for the domestic market and in the quality and efficiency of the service we provide to our farming clients. Our aim is to give our farmers access to the highest standards of veterinary health care in order for them to achieve the best health, fertility and production from their stock.

We are able to provide both first opinion and consultancy services. Mike Bardsley our previous senior vet who has a post graduate certificate from the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons in Cattle Health and Production now leads the Farm Animal Advisory Group for IVC and still provides his invaluable expertise.

More and more homes are keeping Goats as pets. The Pigmy Goats in particular are very popular with young families. This area has always had a high Goat population and our practice is experienced in their treatment and care.

Our aim is to give our clients access to the highest standards of veterinary health care in order for them to achieve the best healthcare for their Goats. One of our vets is a member of the Goat Veterinary Society.

We are able to provide both first opinion and consultancy services. The services that we are able to provide include:

  • Option of bringing your Goat to the Clinic for treatment to save on visit charges.

Poultry

We see an increasing number of poultry at our practice mainly small flocks for egg and meat production and showing. We are able to offer advice in the prevention, control and treatment of disease. The main areas are listed below.

Three Rivers & Chapelfield Farm Vets have been running farm contract schemes for almost 10 years and during that time we have improved and added to the service with the benefit of our experience and the feedback from our farmers. The key features of the dairy farmer’s scheme are outlined below:

  • All visits and professional fees are included in a monthly fee linked to herd size.
  • All medicines at discounted prices.
  • Farm Assurance and Herd Health Plan included in the contract.
  • Recording system for Farm Assurance included in the contract.
  • Out of hours calls at normal call out prices.
  • Free quarterly mastitis consultancy visits.
  • Free biannual screening for BVD, IBR, Leptospirosis (non-vaccinated herds).
  • Costings and quota management service offered at discounted price.
  • Royal College of Veterinary Surgeon’s certificate holder in cattle health and production.
  • Other independent consultancy services available e.g. sire selection, buildings design, expansion plans, milking plant troubleshooting.
